Broken Hearted (2008) - by Jonathan DesRoches

When broken hearts in need of mending,
Bear them selves without pretending.
They’re bound to feel the pain within,
Where healing starts, and hurt begins.

The crushing weight within you aching,
The broken heart continues breaking.
The searing loss, the wretched grief,
The cries for help, with no relief.

The agonizing, drenched and dreary,
Broken heart grows ever weary.
The pang of daggers, stabs of fire,
Of broken dreams and lost desire.

Tearful night and woeful day,
No joy is found when all is gray.
The broken heart it beats no longer,
And yet your soul grows ever stronger.

And in the midst of pain and aching,
All though the heart, continues breaking,
And all your soul within you crying,
To save a heart that’s slowly dying.

And then the Father comes embracing,
Drowning out all that you're facing,
Wrapping hands around your heart,
Protecting every tender part.

Beneath the safety of His wing,
He tends to every hurt and sting.
And though you’re still the broken hearted,
He will complete that which He started.
